JCW Diesel!!
Ko bi reko da ce slozit i Diesel JCW - sa 160 KS koji ce tek okretni moment imat!!!
The adventure never ends with MINI, and its about to take a surprise turn... Auto Express can exclusively reveal that the firm plans to introduce greater economy and efficiency to its JCW hot hatch by swapping its turbo petrol engine for a diesel!
The famous British marque pulled the covers off its new JCW Convertible at the Geneva Motor Show, and once the hot Clubman joins the line-up in July, the petrol-powered performance range will be complete. However, the firms plans are only just beginning.
The JCW diesel would use the Cooper Ds powerplant, but it will stay true to its performance car heritage.
The 1.6-litre unit currently produces 110bhp and 240Nm, while a hot version would deliver more than 160bhp and significantly increased torque.
During an interview with a senior engineer, we posed the question of whether diesel power would ever be an option for the JCW brand. He wouldnt confirm the existence of an oil-burning variant, but commented that it would be a good idea. With the project still on the drawing board, buyers shouldnt expect the new oil-burner to arrive this year.
Meanwhile, MINIs tuning arm is also preparing for the arrival of the firms new crossover SUV. Bosses remain tight-lipped about whether a JCW version of the compact 4x4 will be built, but its likely to appear soon after the model is launched next year.

Re: JCW Diesel!!
Evo i slubeno:
Mini will launch a new range of more powerful diesels next year, kicking off with a Mini hatch equipped with the engine from a BMW 120d.
Minis engineers have successfully managed to fit the BMW four-cylinder engine, designed for a longitudinal application, into the Minis engine bay in a transverse installation. The work involved in fitting the BMW engine to the Mini was described by our source as "tricky".
In the test cars the engine is coupled to an automatic transmission, but expect production cars to have a manual gearbox. Stop-start technology is also likely.
The first of the new Mini diesels will have around 150bhp, detuned from the 120d's 177bhp, but sources say it would also be possible to use the more powerful twin-turbo diesel from the 123d in the Mini.
That would create a Mini diesel with over 200bhp, and could form the basis for a John Cooper Works diesel Mini.
The new Mini diesels will enter the pilot build phase this May, when pre-production cars are assembled on a test line at BMWs HQ in Munich. They are expected to go on sale in 12 months' time, with a possible launch at next years Geneva motor show in March.

Re: JCW Diesel!!
Evo malo info o Cooper S Dieselu:
It looks like MINI will soon be launching a more powerful turbo diesel model to compliment the existing MINI One D and Cooper D. Our spies took these pictures showing the car with two centrally-mounted tailpipes, just like the Cooper S and the John Cooper Works. The Clubman version also sports one pipe on each side which on its own this information could throw off the amateur car sleuth.
What gave the game away was the distinctive engine sound that diesel-powered cars are known for. The front bumper is of a slightly different design as well. Some prototypes that have been spotted carried the cosmetic-only bonnet scoop, while others did not. Therefore we can't really say if it will be kept or not.
Expect the Cooper S D or whatever they end up calling it to make between 103kW (140hp) and 110kW (150hp) with peak torque hovering around the 300Nm mark.
